My vision for the Waimakariri District is community focused and at the heart is the people. A District that doesn’t lose “what makes it feel right” and empowers residents and their communities to be engaged, participate, succeed and grow.

I see a community that prospers by enhancing what makes this place special, welcoming, caring and safe, it has supported vibrant urban and rural business communities that gives job security and growth, and has community facilities, green spaces and the natural landscape to enjoy and improve people’s health and wellbeing.

Council makes all this happen by having policies, plans and rules, I support local governance that improves social, economic, cultural and environment well beings by managing council’s assets and finances, growth and development and the ever-changing political landscape with strong leadership, accountability, practical solutions, sustainable and carefully planning and community consultation and support.
